Chapters 13-16

The chapters from 13-16 have been the best chapters so far in the book. There have been a lot of adventures between the Giver and Jonas. The new Receiver of Memories has received a lot of memories, good ones and also bad ones. Jonas helps The Giver because he takes a bit of pain of a bad memory that consists in animal poaching and also of warfare. To sum up, so far Jonas each day is upsetting more because the government have lie to them from many years ago. Know he is realizing that the world is full of problems that hurt everyone. Jonas like the memory that The Giver transmitted him since this memory was of love, friendship and worship. For first time, Jonas has experienced transmitting memories to Gabe. He transmitted calm memories to his baby brother because he was crying; he realized that Gabe could see beyond. Jonas only was able to transmit his memories to people that have blue pale eyes such as Gabe, that’s why he couldn't transmitted it to Lilly neither to Asher. The memory that Jonas like was significant for him because it consist everything on a feeling. Jonas interested and anxious in finding out why love wasn't able to say neither to feel he ask his parents. After talking with them he takes a crazy decision that was to stop taking the pills.

"There were colored lights: red and green and yellow, twinkling from a tree that was, oddly, inside the room. 

This quote makes me think a lot and makes me think of some inferences. This part is when The Giver gives some great memories to the new Receiver since days ago he gave Jonas a bad and suffering memory that was war. Jonas starts to see people in a house, all together, and after all with happiness. I instantly infer that was the memory of Christmas the one that The Giver was transmitting him. Definitely, for many people this time period of the year is when everybody enjoys and has fun. It’s incredible how people like this season because everybody can see love and happiness in every house. Also, this part of the book was fundamental since Jonas starts to feel love and he decides that he would not be taking the pills anymore because he wants to feel what love is. He wants to have the same sensation as the people who had the chance to have that special moment in family and more. To conclude, this part of the book was the one that put some chili in the pot.

 

 Sadly, the book is almost finishing. I have to say that it’s an awesome book in which I could recommend to all people. These chapters have present some rising actions in which make the story more interesting and making the reader wanting to keep reading. I can predict that Jonas will leave everything in order to stay with Fiona since know he can feels what is true love. As Jonas said, he wants his childhood again and afterall he would reach what he wants. I want to keep reading, I definitely want to know what is going to happen with Jonas and his assignment.

 

Chapters 9-12

From chapters 9-12 the story has get better since Jonas at this point of the story meets The Giver. They have some conversations about what would be about this assignment. First of all, The Giver give some rules to Jonas about how is going to be this assignment to be a perfection. According to the text, the rules his mentor have tell him it’s going to be hard for him keeping clearly. Throughout these chapters Jonas have made his first lie to his mother, which was the only form to keep on step the rules The Giver gave him. The Giver starts to passed memories to Jonas where the past their world was colorful. After some sessions more with his mentor, The Giver, he was ready to everything that could appear in a future because the professional have told him some few problems this assignment would have after some years.

“When I was just your age about to become the new receiver, I began to experienced it, though it took a different from” said The Giver

This quote make me think a lot of Jonas because I am sure when The Giver said this he take out a heavy mass from his body since he was so nervous and questions. He questioned himself if the feeling he had was the same as his mentor when it was little. I think that the persons that have become The Giver are people who born with the soul and magic of seeing different things from others, they don’t convert throughout their eleven years. These type of people need to be accepted on a community since they feel and see different from others and they need to be able to express themselves to teach us and also comment us what it feels having those like power. Furthermore, the Chief Elders have made a good decision by choosing Jonas as the Receiver of Memories.

 

Ending, the book is getting closer to the end but also it’s getting better to the reader. I can predict that everyone will love what Jonas is doing but as the story goes on it would be some problems because of being too kind with the community. Also, I think that because of benefit the community he lives he would dishonor some friendships he had and maybe problems with his family too. It’s important to always think of the actions you will take and the consequences this action would conduct you to. I want to continue reading as soon as possible, I can’t wait more time.

Chapters 5-8

Jonas life has change in chapter 5 because he starts to get dreams he had never get before, he start to get stirrings. His mother always told him that everyone would get stirrings and that they were obligated to drink some pills that calm him. When he dreams with Fiona he was able to say that he was growing up, that he has join the group that drink pills, that he was becoming a teenager. Gabe was elected to be one more year at the nurturing center because of his height in which means one more year with Jonas family. The ceremony that Jonas was waiting for, finally it has come the moment. The ceremony of twelve was at last since the order was from smallest to bigger. Jonas was number 19 and it was getting closer his turn to go in front and receive his assignment. After a while Jonas and everyone in the crowd noticed that they have skipped Jonas number. At the end of the ceremony they apologize and proclaimed Jonas the new Receiver of Memories. He was surprised but at the same time afraid because he knew that his assignment was the most important of every. He assume a big charge.

 

“We fail in our last selection” the Chief Elder said solemnly.

This quote makes me infer that they are betting everything to Jonas since they have observed him when he was little too. They are betting that Jonas would do a great job because their others selections were a failure. If I were in Jonas shoes it would be difficult to accept an assignment with much responsibility because he needs to put all his effort since everyone is depending on him. Jonas has awareness in what he is involved and that’s why I can said firmly that he would do a great job having the most important assignments of all by demonstrating everyone that everything is possible. I can predict that everyone would be happy about the work Jonas is doing because they know the responsibility and soul of keeping going on Jonas has. 

Sincerely, I don’t like reading books because I think is bored and with that time you can do a lot of things more. With this book it has been different because it always let me with the gain to keep reading. Definitely, this book is one of the fewest books I like and have concentrated at all. I can’t wait to continue reading this book because as we read the book gets better and better with new discoveries and with new details that make the novel be the owner of a gold medal prize.
